Angus Tilston - Producer
Have you ever wondered what people did for fun over the last hundred years or so, just after the dawn of the cinématic age?
People living in the North West of England were out and about recording everyday life with cin̩ cameras, using 16mm, Super 8mm and 9.5mm film Рmore recently, of course, with digital video.
From 1897 to the present, cinéasts have been filming many of the events that have enriched the lives of local people in both large and small ways.
'Pleasures Past' Series Producer Angus Tilston has collected choice examples of this footage and presents it on video, most of it for the first time. The soundtracks to the tapes feature some of the most well known people from the area, including Monty Lister of BBC Radio Merseyside, Ray Dunbobbin and Ken Dodd.
